I only ever write in rhyme and love the English style sonnet form

The Power of the Word Love (a sonnet)

I found a word I think I must enhance,
An anaphor with soul where dreams are made,
The use of which can make you sing or dance,
Appearing often in a serenade.

When breathed indifferently from sultry lips,
Or whispered through the tears of knavish pain,
Those charlatans steal from the cup with sips,
Deceiving, seeking which they might attain.

But those of us who dream beyond the day,
Who look into the eyes that soft impart,
While hearing someone special softly say,
Will keep that ruby ever in our heart.

Then while we breathe we feel that gem evolve,
And face the world with courage and resolve.
