Sleep.
Morpheus' Arms

I'm riding on the edge of sleep
the darkness whispers to my eyes
secrets of myself, undisclosed to me

Eyelids that flutter in that realm
the place between awake and sleep
where fears and ideals do meet

I claim the life I crave
so brave in dreams, no one to tug my feet
warm faces, like stars they beam and bathe with light

I drink from the river of silence
and it fills me with such wonder
there is a song no one knows to sing

Crushed like watered silk, the fabric of my dreams
silk-worm thoughts invade, make their way to the upper chamber
I am awake: trying to remember a forgotten song.
