The meeting of destiny
(The name of this written out is These Are The Moments We All Wish For. There is a prelude to this)
On Monday morning William Harrison walked into his Monday-Wednesday 9:45 english class. He wore his old high school football shirt, black jeans and, black crocks. His friend, James Johnson, always made fun of him.
"Dude you should go to the mall with me this weekend," said James. "I'll pimp you up."
"No thank you," said Will. "I'm fine really. I don't need any more clothes."
"Your parents should be ashamed of you. How do you expect to get some if you don’t change your appearance?”
“Don’t worry about me. I will know when the time is right.”
“Just don’t come crying to me for advice when you never get some.”
“Why is your mind on sex James. Don’t worry about my personal sex life until you get yours straight.”
“Oh so someone’s slanging jokes now. Ok how about the fact that you are not only still a virgin but you’ve never been kissed, never had a girlfriend, or never been on a date. I can slang jokes on those subjects for months.”
“James I was just making a point.”
“I was just playin’ with you man. You know I could never do that to you.”
“Whatever man did you do your homework?”
“What was it?”
“It was the ten questions over the Othello story.”
“Oh I need to copy the answers from you.”
“It figures. Let me sharpen my pencil then I’ll let you copy.”
Will got up from his seat and proceeded to the pencil sharpener. He turned to James.
“Say do you got some paper I can borrow?”
“I do but it will cost you.”
“Yeah right.”
Will turned in time to run into a girl and knock her over. He looked down at her at first then kneeled over to help her.
“I’m so sorry,” said he picking up some papers and a text book.
“Don’t worry about it,” said the girl. “I was not being careful enough and…”
She looked up at him.
“Please forgive me I was just…”
He looked up at her. Both of them stared into each others eyes for a minute, him into her dark blue eyes and her into his light grey eyes. For a moment both of them forgot about the mess on the floor and focused on each other. All the noises in the classroom seem to fade into complete silence.
“Hey,” said Will.
“Hey yourself,” said the girl.
“Sorry about the mess,” said Will.
“I’m sorry for not paying attention,” said the girl.
They were silent again. Their gaze never strayed away from each others eyes.
“My name is Will, Will Harrison” said he extending a hand to her.
“My name is…”
“Jordan,” yelled a voice coming out of the hallway.
Both of them jumped as the noise of the classroom filled their ears. Quickly the both of them collected the scattered papers and book and put them back into her arms.
“I’m sorry for knocking you over like that,” said Will. “I promise it will never happen again.”
“Don’t worry about it,” said Jordan smiling. “I’ll be sure to watch where I’m going.”
The two of them parted. Will stared at her as she walked to her seat. Then remembering why he got up in the first place, he walked to the pencil sharpener and sharpened his pencil. The girl who yelled Jordan’s name walked into the classroom. She was about five-six, with a body guys consider slutty. She wore a spaghetti strap shirt with too much of her breast showing and some blue jean shorts. She walked to her seat right next to Jordan.
“Hey did you hear about what happened to Jericho,” said she.
“I heard,” said Jordan. “Macy, he got shot in the abdomen and had internal hemorrhaging last night.”
“In english please.”
“He’s bleeding from inside of his body. He’s fine now. He’s expected to make a recovery within a week.”
“That’s good. Then you could go visit your baby.”
“I could but I have other things to take care of.”
She looked at Jordan with a strange look because she said that last statement dream like.
“Girl are you really ok,” said Macy. “You seem distracted...”
At the same time Will and James were talking at the back of the classroom.
“I saw you up there,” said James. “I saw her looking at you.”
“What do you mean,” said Will.
“You were looking at her and she was looking back at you,” said James. “I think she likes you.”
“I don’t think that’s the case. She’s dating the ninth best quarterback in the nation Jericho Richmond. Why would she like me?”
“I know what I saw,” said James. “But you are going to have to wait in line because I call dibs on her first."
"I thought you were going after her friend.”
“I’ve been there and done that. I would like to do her again but her friend looks finer.”
Will looked at Jordan straight black hair wondering if it could be.
