Change requires us to remove the armor of our fears
Line Count: 18

Bewitched by autumn’s cool morning breeze
a weary traveler stops to contemplate
the dangerous liaisons civilization negotiates
between the city’s masculine walls and towers
and the feminine spells and powers
of the wilderness.

Bruised but not broken
by her experiences in the warrior’s citadel,
she stands on the invisible boundary line
between the timeless future
and the clock scheduled past;
she makes the choice to awaken
her sleeping soul.

Removing the armor of civilization’s fear
she walks naked into the ancient forest of faith
to find
not a trackless wilderness,
but the garden of paradise.
