A lost girl waiting for her lover.
The wind howled through the forest, making the morbid trees sway.  The sickly staleness of the air sent a chill down the young girl's spine who is awaiting her lover. The girl looks up as if to see some ghastly ghoul or creature looking at her but sees that she is alone. She looks at the rose her lover gave to her and wonders why he asked her to meet him in such a dreadful place.  As the time passed the light from the clouds turns into darkness. She lights the torch she brought with her and waits a while longer. After she hears the town's clock strike midnight, she decides to leave. She walks and stumbles through the forest, trying to find a way out. After sometimes passes, she comes to the edge of the forest and lets out a sigh of relief. As she draws near her town, a light wind begins to blow but when she reaches the town's gate, the light wind suddenly turns violent and blows her back, taking life from the torch she carried. The iciness of the wind scratches at her like the bony fingers of death and morbid trees begin to creak and moan as the wind blew into them. See looked up to see the town before it was cast into the darkness. The wind died down and the girl stood up and looked around to see nothing but blackened trees and a pale type of darkness. She took a few steps and heard a crunch under her feet; she looked down and saw she had stepped on a dead rose. She picked it up being careful not to damage it more. When she look from the rose, which she recognized to be the one given to her by her lover, she sees a man standing in front of her. The man held out his hand and the girl took it, recognizing that the man was her lover. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes and asks why he didn’t come earlier. He simply placed a finger on her lips to stop her from talking and wiped the tears from her eyes. He whispered something in her ear and kissed her. The girl closed her eyes and drifted away in his kiss never to wake again
