The horse race of the millenium.-Poetry
In Elysian Fields, on carpet green,
Two flying steeds did meet.
It was Shadowfax and Pegasus,
Who would vie for a Lady’s treat.

"Dear Shadowfax, what ails you lad?"
The Lady did inquire.
"It’s Pegasus," the horse replied,
"I dare not raise his ire."

"For you well know, that he is bold,
And thinks himself quite fast.
But I am meek, though fleet of feet,
I fear I may be last."

"Dear Pegasus,"  the Lady said,
"What say you to these words?
While you are bold, you're also old;
you'll surely lose your herds."

"The race, I know, is just a show."
Said Pegasus. " A jest."
Let’s call it off and just be friends.
I feel we need a rest."

"I bid you both to stay a while,
Please stop this silly race.
For both of you are noble beasts
That need not face disgrace."

The Lady then took each in hand,
She swore they'd never part.
So Shadowfax and Pegasus
Now pull Diana’s cart.
