Spirits taking to the night on Hallowe'en
As the last October sunset fades,
darkness cloaks the land;
but unlike recent autumn nights,
the Haunted raise their hands.

Feel them all encircling;
souls not yet at peace,
clamouring at graveyard gates,
desperate for release.

And as the yearly clock does strike
on "All Hallows Eve",
ghosts and goblins fill the sky,
enjoying their reprieve.

We human forms are wary,
flaunting Jack-O-Lanterns bright;
vigilantly guarding,
as shadows move through night.

Blessedly, November dawns;
arriving on a dare ~
chambering the spirits;
bringing cleansing to the air.
