A sonnet I wrote freshman year
Avoid my eyes this is not hard our love
Is now but just a kindling flame that burns
No more no less for so is this the love
We had no more to see gone now yearns.

As we draw near your face my heart it bursts
With love as we used to know it now gone
Observant we were to guard our love thirsts
So bright is you skin glowing as a fawn.

We cannot be together wish it so
Our love is true but now endless in time
Your eyes make me dream that our love might flow
Earth cannot satisfy my heart sublime

We now may separate our love is gone
But my love for you will remain so long
