A poem written on nature's subliminal beauty.

REFLECTIONS OF A PARK POND-WATCHER

Catch the feel of loneliness
The blissful peace of contemplation.
Surrounded by tints and shades of green,
What did I not experience!
On an isle carpeted by lush green grass,
Trees act like colonnades
Supporting the white sky dome,
Laced with silver blades;
Pond waters frolic and tremble under
Swishes of cool winds and kisses from the
Sweeping, caressing, droop-lying foliage
Crested sunlit green, sweaty from the effort-
So natural, so pleasurable- so effortless!
Not a specter to break the charm cast by the
Matronly squawking mama duck calling her babe
Or the branches whispering their secrets.
Heavenly beautiful peace of a garden awakening
To a dewy, cheerfully composed morning,
Undisturbed by the din just opposite the far gates.
Only the freakiest luck could bring me amidst
Such splendor of a calm incomparable.
How wouldn't the soul oblige this host
Inviting it to drink in the prim scenery and
Celebrate its magnificence, pregnant with
Soul-unleashing force of thoughtful quiet!
