a young man tells you how it started
My first question would have been something like this: am I stuck in my murderer’s hell, or is he stuck in my heaven?

That’s what it would have been had I known that I had just been killed, but that’s the funny thing about amnesia; it makes you forget things.

Things like what your name is, what your age is, and that you were murdered. Also makes you forget you’re kind of an orphan, kind of startling to the eyes, and that you were kind of shot in the chest 7 times.

Now I couldn’t remember much, but then again, none of us really did. Some couldn’t remember anything at all.

I thought I remembered a girl… and a something about sitting in a post office… or maybe it was a Fed Ex Kinko’s. I definitely didn’t remember how I died.

What I could tell you is that in this place, Heaven, Hell, the afterlife, whatever you want to call it, we had abilities. We weren’t superheroes. We couldn’t fly, run a thousand miles an hour, or lift a mountain off the ground.

What we could do was affect those around us in very subtle and very dangerous ways.

You already know some of us.

Many of us changed your world, and were forgotten.

Many of us will make you stronger, smarter, and more compassionate than ever before.

Many of us will try to tear your world apart.

All of us will decide the future of your world… and as I am finding out… the next one.
