Are you happy or sad to see 2010 go?
“Three, Two, One,….”

All eyes are focused on Time Square’s clock
Where the count down of seconds has begun.
I stand alone on a crowded, decorated sidewalk.
All eyes are focused on Time Square’s clock.
The tension is as great as a movie by Alfred Hitchcock
And no tears are shed for a bad year that is done.
All eyes are focused on Time Square’s clock
Where the count down of seconds has begun.

Let’s just say that there will be people who are happy to see the year 2010 go. There is always that hope for great things as well as good luck on January 1st. My father used to do an English tradition of opening one door to let ‘let the old man out’ and then a second door to ‘bring in the baby’. I will just say that I have kicked the ‘old man out’ a little while ago and the baby can come in any time he/she wishes.

Happy New Year to everyone and may all of your good days out number the bad.

This is a French form called triolet. It has 8 lines that carry 2 rhymes. The scheme is A B a A a b A B.
