Friend-shiping is about a relationship.
Finally I was close to someone I liked very much, we could not have a relationship (intimate) really but it was joy to be next to him. He is Muslim and I'm of the Christian faith. He was not always Muslim but embraced this religion whole heartedly.
We both enjoyed each other’s company and did not really need to have a conversation to feel needed at the moment. The silence was spoken words in itself. He was on the computer as his job required and I was just looking on. One Sunday we spent a day at his new apartment just relaxing by sitting in the front room and enjoying the newness of the suroundings and the space compared to where he lived before. Here actually had windows that can be opened to let in fresh air.
This house was built like those old time houses with the kitchen being separate from the rest of the house. The yard had two other houses in it and they were occupied by other families, my friend being the only single person living in the yard.

The kitchen was very large and as I entered two members from another family shared a table, I said good-day and noticed the tap open and water running into a small bucket that was full ( well over flowing at that moment). Being reminded of the problems that families living in my village have for water I turned the tap off. But unknowing to me I created a problem. Another tap at the next sink in the kitchen was not working. To fix that problem this tap was left on so as to prevent the kitchen sink filling up and flowing over, as there are always dirty dishes from a member of the quarters in the sink.

Well, this was unusual for me to see that a tap is kept on for such a reason. But it seems no one was willing to take responsibility to fix the tap.
My friend called me from the kitchen to ask me a question, and as I came to sit with him he inquired if I would like to be his roommate. For me, I think our friendship will be better off once we lived at separate houses. The friendship was of greater importance and he respected my view, since we have been friends for about seven years.
Just as I was about to leave the rain came down heavy, falling for about 15-25 minutes.
Certain areas in Trinidad are prone to flooding and the yard quickly filled up with water. This delayed my departure by about forty minutes but the time was used in a past time that’s good but bad if not used carefully. We gossiped about old friends we had not seen for awhile and up-dated on each other lives.
