This is my poetic testimony.
A New Beginning

A new beginning... a new birth was in the making.
Didn't know it, couldn't see it, and didn't want it for the taking.
Had a plan... and a man... and was content, but not happy inside
Felt caged and broken in spirit and couldn't understand why
With every passing day
The ability to think and fly was taken away.
Slowly here a little, there a little
Until all I could do is pray, and all I could do is cry
Asking God, "Is this what you intended for me until the day I die!?"
A wife, a mother, but I was no where to be found
Got lost through the years from sadness with no sound
Taking a step, here and there
Fighting my way back to flight
Broken wings and all
When God stepped in shielding me from the enemy
His daughter he called,
"Freedom Butterfly Princess!"
Come forth out of the dark and know your name!
Today in heaven I proclaim!
That you will be blessed forever more
You are my daughter, and I am your father,
and I am who you adore.
