For those in-between days - when you've still lost them but you don't hate them anymore.
After You

Some day I’ll live in a house by the sea
Where carnal love won’t bother me
It’s going to have such a marvellous view
To block out any thoughts of you
(Especially your smile)

Each Sunday I shall dress in white
And read the papers whilst it’s light
When darkness shows its’ underbelly
I’ll switch on my brand new ‘fuck off’ telly
(And channel hop)

On my enormous, extravagant sofa I’ll chill
Flicking through hundreds of channels at will
I might even figure a personal schedule
Though I won’t call the ‘remote’ the ‘module’
(Like you do)

The bath in the house will be no surprise
With room for four should need arise
I’ll listen to music amidst the bubbles
And wash away non-existent troubles
(As well as dirt)

I’ll cook for one with great panache
In a kitchen that cleverly eats the trash
Oh how tidy and happy I’ll be
Doing everything just for me
(I might even write that book)
