Life is a wonderful surprise
Saturday evening. The dark was slowly rising as the mighty sun sets down. The purple sky barely covered her nakedness with a hundred snowy white giant clouds. The wind does not agree with her. For he hopelessly but furiously ran wild as if he wants to see her nudity by tearing off her clothes. Dragging off an army of yellow dead leaves with his hands as he ran. The trees were swaying calmly as if they are waving good bye to the setting sun god.
The air was so soft and cold. There was a slight dust in her. Though, she was very kind, for she was very comforting. Kissing everyone she meets, she pleased them.

The usually troubling noisy day in the New Sanhana city was about to retire.

The streets were so desperate. You could hardly see a vehicle go by. The busy citizens have all gone home. The environment was very lonely but lovely.

There stood a great building by the street Nemero. Three story old building. It was situated in the far corner of the city. The thing about this side of the city is you could hardly find a person there walking by after 6.00 o clock in the evening. And it was 6.32p.m in the evening already.

A man about thirty walked along the deserted road. Silently he walked. When he came near to the building he halted, took a deep breath and looked up at it. He sighed. There was a small old bench in front of the building. He paused for a while and went towards the bench, sat down and again looked up at the building.

The man wore a very old coat. He had a two weeks growth of a beard. His eyes were dark. His face was thin, with cheeks sucked into the skull. He had a fine dark hair which was combed aside. He had a pale and a blank look in his face. The man was tall, about six foot to be precise.

He looked at the building for a while. Then he put his arm into his coat. Out he brought a small wallet. He gazed at it for a moment and opened it. Inside it was a small picture of a young girl. She was about sixteen years old very beautiful and sweet, with a shortly cut hair and was in a white colour school uniform.

For the first time since his arrival he smiled. Then he again raised his head and looked at the old great building…

Bright sunlight illuminated the whole environment. The sky was clear and blue. The wind was so warm and pleasant. The trees with green leaves waved to the passing people as if they wish good luck.

And there it was, not dark and old, but a bright and a mighty three story building in its ground floor was a small café. A narrow stair case on the side of it connected its three floors all together. Surely this place is some kind of an educational institute, for hundreds of young girls and boys were roaming here and there, outside and inside of the grand building.

In the café, by a small table, sat a young boy, about sixteen years old. He was tall, a warm face with dark eyes. He was smiling chatting along with his friends at the table.

The whole place was filled with laughter and joy, chatting and smiling. Boys flirting girls, some boys teaching things to their fellow students by a table, girls laughing at boys and gossiping loudly-There is only one word that is suitable enough to describe all of it-Merry.

The name of the young boy is James, James Grey.

The math class was about to get started. Only five minuets or so were left. James and his friends came out from the café to enter the staircase which was situated outside the building. The class was to be held on the third floor and almost everyone had already entered the classroom.

James was about to enter the stair case when he was distracted by a car horn which sounded almost from the front of the building. James turned to look who it was.

A small white colour car parked in front of the building. And then, out of the car came,

‘An Angel!’ James whispered to himself.

Surely, he may have not mistaken. For anyone who believes that the sweet beauty from the heaven does not exist, they would change their mind just from a one glance at her.

Claire Rose walked out from the car.

Shortly cut dark hair that matches to her sweet white face with pink lips and a pair of lovely dark brown eyes, sweet soft cheeks, so soft like petals of a Frangipani flower, Claire truly a was remarkable angel.

She looked up and waved to her friends who were already upstairs and were looking below from the balcony. Then she passed James like a soft breeze to enter the stair case.

James paused there for a while. Took a deep breath, even the air seemed to be freshened by her scent, he thought. And realizing he is day dreaming when the class is about to commence, he ran upstairs to join his friends.

Just like that-James first saw Claire.

That very day James learned from his friends that her name was Claire. ‘Claire, oh Claire, how can I ever resist. Claire, her name is like a song to my ears, a song so sweet than of a hummingbird. Her scent is like sweet roses, filling me up like elixir. My lungs are so desperate without air that touched her body. Her eyes are like diamonds, so shiny and bright. Oh good lord if only she is mine, my life will be compete, my destiny will be fulfilled. She is the one I have been looking for, yes she is…..

‘But’ He paused his thoughts. ‘What if I go ask her and she rejects me? I have seen that happen pretty much times in my life. I must have patience. I must make myself worthy for it….’

He knew that within another two hours or so, it will be completely dark. And he knew that now it is time for him to go. But James’s mind does not agree with his senses. His heart does not allow him to leave the very place where he had all these beautiful memories about. The meeting, times they spent together, times he felt proud of himself in front of her, the day he told her that he had been selected to the university…..

Time such a cruel and an unpredictable force. She drags you away so fast that in the end you have no idea what has happened. She changes you, your mind, your looks, everything.

But for James eleven years were not a breeze. Each day he started praying that he could take her hand, wishing to see her face once again. But as if the gods does not agree with him he never had a single chance. After five lonely years in the far away university James came back to his home town in searching for Claire only to be informed that she no longer lives the country. Ever since, each evening, he visited the old building where he first saw her. It was no longer an educational institute. There was no Café anymore. Only a mighty giant of dark bricks stood there. Her warmth and happiness had but all faded away.

He looked at the small picture of Claire again. She was smiling at him He too smiled at her. “Oh I wish you were here Claire. I wish you sit here beside me. But now you have left me and gone very far away I don’t even know where you are. This photograph and a faded memory is all I have left of you.”

He carefully put the picture back in the wallet. And at that very sudden, he felt something. Some powerful sense as if the time has stopped, an explosion right under his feet, his heart beat has stopped and as if the world stopped her course.

He looked behind over his shoulder. On the street beside him in which nothing was there until now, stood a white colour car. He stood up to face it. The windows of the car were tinted so you could hardly make out the passengers. But then a door was opened.

“I must be dreaming, this is not real, I must have gone insane….” James said to himself as he was starring at the person who came out of the car.

“Claire…!”

Her eyes hasn’t changed a bit, her face was still the same. Claire Rose was looking at James Grey with a smile on her face.

He took a step forward.

She took a step forward.

At the centre of their paths they met. James, still unable to believe his very own eyes held his hands over Claire’s shoulders. He touched her cheek. “It is you! I am not dreaming.”

“Of course you are not James.” She smiled holding his hand. “It is me.”

James laughed, he laughed as he had never laughed for the past eleven years. He hugged her forehead moving his arms around her so tight. Claire held his face with both of her hands, and kissed his lips, for the first time in their lives.

“All these time I have been waiting for this moment. And now it is time, James I love you, I love you with all my heart and soul.” She whispered.

“I love you too darling. I really do! But how did you know that I am here?”

“Come with me” whispered Claire. “I have so many things to tell you.”

“I have so many things to tell you too. It has been a very long time. I simply don’t know where to begin…”

“I’m sure we will figure it out.” smiled Claire.
