Mastery of this game is rare and difficult.
Master of the Game

The Goal: Win.

White versus Black
Forever in battle.
Fighting for the glory.
Fighting for a story.
A legend. A game.
Observing. Remaining still.
The air is pulsing
A heart beat is pumping.
Thumping.
They stare into space. Haunting.
Taunting.

First move: a White Knight.
Advances with caution. Exhaustion.
No luck.
He disappears from the square.

Second move:
A Black Knight.
His stare is cold. Unmoving.
Courageously choosing to be the bate.
His soul instilled with hate.
There is no losing.

Third move:
White Bishop is singing
The church bells are ringing
The black castle still stands.
The Black Queen grows restless. Cheerful
The White King grows fearful. Tearful.
Waiting. The battle goes on.
Pondering. The battle rages on.
They fight with their minds, two mortal enemies.
Capturing prisoners of war.
No more.
No mercy.
So thirsty.
Vengeance.

Fourth move:
A Black Horse.
Knights are disappearing.
The horses are screaming.
The white castle still stands.
The White Queen makes her move.
Elegant and smooth.
Check.

Eighth Move:
She triumphantly stands her ground.
Trumpets of a battle of wit will sound.
She is trapped and surrounded.
The army advances.
No second chances.
The White Queen is taken down.
The Queen of Black is hateful.
Her blow is successfully fatal.
And her black eyes shine like obsidian.
The Black King rides in.
“Down with the White King.”
“Down with the White Queen.”
The white castle still stands
On squirming black sand
But is quickly being consumed
By writhing pillars and easels
And welcomes its inevitable doom.
At the Black Kings unquenchable delight
He dreams of conquering the white
And silently barks orders
As white slowly falters
Behind weapons of frustration
Black uses to weaken annexation.

Ninth Move:
The Black Queen is forcing.
The White King is roaring
And is backed into a corner to meet his end.
The Black Queen is jeering.
The Black King is nearing
The injured White King.
The ending is coming.
The white castle is crumbling.
The crown is falling.

Tenth Move.
