One of the poems from my book, The Silver Dragon, Hepatitis Awareness Poetry.
Lady Laura Linehan cut her teeth on a two edged sword
The youngest dragon warrior I know who fought like no one before

Fighting is second nature; in the caves she feels at home
“These are the years we’re given,” she hums while quietly waiting alone

The final battle was gut wrenching; her backups did what they could
“Let’s make the best of our lives,” she hummed as her eyes closed for good

All around there was silence as the best warrior ever known
One more time faced her dragon and unseen, quietly went home

In Loving Memory of Laura Linehan
