She shouldnt have. Mother told her not to. Why her?
Clutching onto my jacket I slinked deeper and further into the Montana woods. It was spring and birds sang happily around me. A drip of water slid off a leaf and onto the rim of my nose and eyelashes.

Wiping the water away I went into a slow jog. Twigs smacked harshly at my coat as my sister's worried voice screamed for me " Deveyn! Deveyn where are you! Help!" Slipping off my jacket I started into a dead sprint past the pond, up the hill, to where the old mine was. Stopping in my tracks I took a deep breath, then shouted out to my little sister.
" Decemeber! I'm here where are you! It's me Deveyn!" Turning in a circle I searched the cliff looking for any sign of my sister. " December don't do this to me! I'll save you!" Climbing higher up the cliff I reached out and took hold of a branch that swayed above me.
" Deveyn! Don't let me die! Help! The rocks are falling!" Crying out on the top of my lungs I pushed myself upwards and raced to where a cave seemed to beckon me inwards. " Deveyn please! Im so scared!"
"Im coming December! Just hold on!" Pushing my brown hair behind my ears I ran to the entrance of the cave just when the sound of the cave crumbling inwards boomed in my ear. Stunned I flew backwards against a tree. My sister's cries for help stopped. Then harsh reality brought me to the present.

A small cross covered in flowers rested in front of where the cave had crumbled. It read ' Loving Daughter and Sister. Will be greatly missed' Rubbing my fingers over the engraving I cried and slumped down. She had died last year, playing hide and go seek with me when she had cried for help. I didn't make it. I was to late.

Sobbing I threw a rock at the tree and screamed " DECEMBER! WHY?! MOM ALWAYS TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUPID CAVE! SHE ALWAYS TOLD YOU!" Tears streamed down my face, my arms hurt from the branches scraping against my arms.

Picking myself up I took one more sad look at the massive pile of rocks and saw December perched on top wearing the same clothes the day she died even though her body was never found. She was in her little yellow sundress and bright orange bow rested in her hair. Her blonde hair was pulled into two loose pig tails. She smiled and whispered " I'm alright Deveyn. I love you. Tell mom and dad I love them." Then suddenly she disappeared.

Smiling I put my hand over my heart and said " I love you too!" Then turned away and slowly took off down the cliff.
