Not wanting to listen to you inner voice who thinks it's right.
He whispers in my ear "Let it go."
I tell him I can't.
He says it's not worth the pain.
I tell him it is.
Each step away from him,
Is one step closer to you.
"It doesn't matter," he tells me.
"Nothing will change."
I tell him he's right.
That it doesn't matter.
I will always feel the same.
He whispers in my ear "I'm sorry I hurt you."
I tell him he'll never understand.
He says he loves me.
I know he lies.
He whispers in my ear "Why?"
I tell him it's just the way it is.
He says he's not worth it.
I tell him he is.
