Losing the one you love.
I can sit here all night and write of a lover’s great pain,
Or reminisce about the past amidst the thundering rain.
You can tell me you love me and lie straight to my face,
But I can’t seem to forget you in any time nor any place.
My heart still tells me that this is completely wrong,
But the fact of the matter is that you’re truly gone.
From the beginning it was doomed, not meant to be,
But I couldn’t save you from yourself, not even from me.
The pain in my heart is too much to show,
The thought of what could have been is too much too know.
As I stand here alone and remember the past,
I can’t help but wonder why you left me so fast.
You promised me the world, the stars and the moon,
But just as quickly as you came into my life, you took my heart soon.
I will never forgive you, not matter how much you plead
I will leave you these words and just let you read.
You were my only reason for living, or even to breathe,
I will never understand why it is you had to leave.
Whether in this life or the next, may I see you again.
Just know that you were my only true friend.
