Poem about a talk with the Johshua Tree.
Watching the arid nights morbid light; flashing muzzle fires,
Contacting the visionary of the Joshua Trees,
I embraced a distant flight of emotion, the catalyst fear,

Joshua pulled me in and exploded experience,
“the worlds eternal and non-perceptive to your ego here”
“Your friends won’t the last night, You’ll die here”
“You’ll die here – alone at night – in a world on fire”

I pulled my head from my hands, “God aren’t I mighty”,
Joshua perceived my fright and calls for support,
“The worlds eternal and your thoughts are fleeting”,
“Your bodies of the soil and so it will return”,
“The grounds will return to mud, after your on fire”

The sky filled with light; heart gripped with pity,
Joshua perused my mind, to take its title,
“The worlds eternal and your experience a perception trial”
“Your self-center and erroneous, your pursuits misguided”
“Your motivations based in lies; like time and piety”

I shouted into the sky, “Joshua, What is you mean!”,
“I lived my life properly, defending the weak”,
Joshua underline the lines, that destruct desire,
“The worlds eternal and you don’t matter”
“Your actions inconsequential and without lasting”
“All you have done or known or felt in life, it is all – nothing here”

I perceived a burning distinct and heightened- I was on fire,
“You are on fire – on fire!”,
Thrashing and shouting, I awoke to the arid night,
Looking up at the Joshua Tree,
Strange and peaceful in its knowledge of the morbid light of life…
