As time stands still, I wait for your reply.
Red paint splashes the pavement
with a shot of anger.
Hot vengeance is in my breath.
I can feel the cold of the wind sinking in.

I’m almost out of time.
I need to be honest,
not just with you,
but with myself.

I’m walking around in a daze
Because I don’t know who I am.
I’m scared.
I’m so scared of losing you.

My inner voice is being held down,
Strapped down by my insecurity,
Caged in by my self-hatred,
Silenced by my fear.

You tell me that you feel like
You don’t really know me.
Guess what, honey?
I don’t really know me either.
