The fight for her life.
She wrenched herself free of her attacker, but only for a second. Her moment of triumph was interrupted as she was grabbed from behind. There were more of them! They wrapped her in something to try to keep her from struggling, and the last thing she saw before darkness engulfed her, was a single stripe of red on the blanket as it covered her head. She screamed a blood-curdling scream as she felt a burning sensation throughout her. Her eyes streamed as she wished her mother were here to save her. Then, she saw light. The blanket was lifted off of her and as her eyes adjusted she saw it, the weapon of torture. The syringe was laid carelessly on a white counter; she could still see the blood, her blood, on it. She looked around the brightly colored room relieved that she was still alive. Her arm felt weird and she looked down to see the bright pink Hello Kitty band-aid that covered up her wound. She began to sob as her mother came into the room smiling.
“Hey!” Her mom said happily. “How was it?”
“It was a piece of cake.” She lied. “It didn't hurt at all.” She knew what had happened, but she decided that some things are better unsaid.
