"beyond the black stump" is an Aussie phrase meaning the middle of nowhere...
Far out beyond the black stump a man stands very still
He barely moves a muscle, he has an iron will.
The blazing sun can’t move him, the rain he can resist,
Modern installation art, a post impressionist!
