A rather sad tale of a lonesome frog looking for his mate.
The frog in the pond searches in silence
for the mate of his dreams, yes indeed
He searches to gain his bride, without shame
Since pride is the height of his being

Many women, he approaches, to woe them
by the light of the moon, he moves
finding them, saying "how fine you are" while praying
Because he simply has nothing to lose

Countless times, he attempts, without success
Only finding rejection through his days
For a frog only listens to those voices within him
Commanding a fast-paced embrace

Another day goes by, and try again, he must try
So down to the tailor he goes!
He buys a new suit, and for good measure, new boots
And to please his new lady, a rose

He hops up the steps of her homestead, a mansion bigger than life
Looking, he missed the door's movement
And out comes the woman, but to his shock, a human!
Dressed in only her gown (at our friend's amusement)

She catches him in hand, and sets him on a brown stand
made of the finest wood, as all tables go
And she looks in his eyes with an amazed delight
At this creature resting before her in clothes

She says "You cannot be a toad, this I do know"
for a toad is much too dull and fearful
A man you must be, but shrunken and free
cursed, but looking just as cheerful!"

"Fate, as it seems, has brought you to me
and I intend to unbind you
Soon you will see the old world, but with me
by your side, creature of the bayou."

She leaned down and then puckered her lips; with a bend
she was close to his own lips with speed
But she did not know how this would end, this odd show
With a scream and two broken hearts, yes indeed
with a scream and two broken hearts
