a short story of loss
This morning as I sat at my sewing machine binding a quilt the thread broke and I had to start over.  I thought that this is what life is:  Broken Threads.  We piece and sew together a life and many times the threads unravel or break.  Each time that they do we have to pick up the ends and put them back together.  Sometimes it is from too much use. Sometimes it is new thread that just doesn't work.  But we manage to keep mending ,sewing and joining until our lives are complete.

Its hard to imagine when the strongest thread in your quilt breaks and is frayed so completely that you cannot mend it back but we pick up a strand and we try or our lives have a big hole that can overwhelm us.  So we tuck and mend and tie and sew until we close it up.  It is never the same but at least the hole is closed  and we can keep going.

I am tired of broken threads and I find myself wishing for a good strong cord.
