A girl who needs a friend
To Write Love On Her Arms

She curls up in the corner, blade in hand
She drags it across her wrist and watches the blood
Flow out of her arms as tears flow out of her eyes
She feels alone
She feels unloved
She feels loathe towards herself

She needs a will to live
She needs a touch, a hug, a friend
She knows they exist
But she has never experienced the real thing

All she’s ever known was abuse
And harsh words
She looks at herself, wanting the pain to go away
So she bleeds out her sorrow

She is broken
She is scarred
She is depressed
She is her

She wants people to see the world through her eyes
More than she wants love
See the world
Before she ends

Then one day a friend came along
She noticed the sorrow in her eyes
And the scars on her arm
The friend gathers her in a hug, and holds her there
The friend cries silently, and promises to never let her go
The things inside were timed to come out
In place of every scar that came about

Put down the blades and pick up the keyboard
Hold tight and seek the sight of the Lord
Tell your tale
On every nightingale
Spill out your secrets I’ll be here
A time no longer you have to fear
Hold my hand and grasp it tight
There is no telling where we will go tonight

Look up at the stars and you will see
No matter where you go you can always find me
Hush now it’s been a big day
Know that in my arms you can always stay
