prose i wrote
I have never liked the light. How it brightly shines revealing all beneath it. A single glint of it and from ever nook and cranny they flock to it like cattle to the slaughter. They begin to name it their beacon of hope or some heavenly savior coming to expel the dark and bring forth a brighter world. Such hopelessness can be found in fools and the ignorant. Let them believe in the false hope they praise and the fictional beings that they send unheard words too. I shall stay here within the shadows for the darkness they run away from i call home. I find comfort within the dark quiet abyss that is the void i dwell within. So quiet and tranquil with the solitude i enjoy as my company. I can feel it wrap around me like a blanket snug and warm though many consider it constricting and bone chilling. I embrace it as if it were a part of me. Breathing it in allowing it to enter my lungs and fester within me. My heart pumping it through my veins. My soul absorbing it until we are one and the same. Here i will thrive and live in peace as all of the others go towards the light like moths to a flame. Ill stay here and embrace the darkness while the others shun it away but, i know that as long as there is light there is always darkness.
