my wish to go back to age 27 for one week!
November 25, 2012: If you could be any age again for one week, which would you choose?


MY VOLUNTARY DO-OVER OF ONE WEEK OF AGE 27!

I would return to the age of 27 for another week with my beloved father. If I were to return to that age, I acknowledge that I would still be merely dating my wonderful husband of 24 years; we began to date in 1979, but were too stubborn and too timid to get engaged or married. We finally got engaged in 1988, for 1 week, and then married in a small ceremony in our Presbyterian church…in the conference room! With 12 people in attendance. But I digress about age 27, from July 27, 1987 to July 26,1988!

I would choose Thanksgiving week of that year, because I thought I was too sick to go home to see my parents that year. I had just gotten my diagnosis of my MS and hadn’t told my parents—never did tell them, actually. Didn’t want to have to deal with my mom’s bi-polar reaction to it. Think my dad found out anyway, somehow, and never mentioned it.

If I could, I would go back and spend that Thanksgiving with them. I am not sure that I could have made it up to my bedroom that week, but it would have been worth it, nevertheless!
