WC 120312: Story/Poem that uses your choice of oxymoron: 50 Shades of Mediocre revised.
"I must have it!"
They all scream,
flooding the shelves,
to appease their wet dreams;

"Mommy porn", is what the critics have called it;
as if BDSM isn't older than dry wit,
(Shakesperean humor is to what I refer,
compared to Christian, I bet Will was kinkier.)

Haven't read the book,
don't color myself impressed;
I refuse to be sucked in like the rest.

A cliché orignal is what this literature seems to be,
I'm afraid that sort of fare just doesn't interest me.

I hear it's not great,
that the writing's elementary
(perhaps that is why so many readers it has plenty).

Don't get me wrong,
I am most happy for James,
any writer should be commended,
for the ratings she claims.

I personally prefer my FetLife,
fanfiction, and less well-known arts;
because when popularity rises,
the decline of true quality starts.
