A special poem about dealing with what belongs to us and running from what does not.

Do I know you
Did I show you
Do you understand
If not
How come
If so
Forget everything
And just walk away
Drop such weight
Turn and run
Into the sun
Never stop
Until you escape
You don’t want
To own what’s mine
Just as I don’t
Want to own it for myself
The difference is that you
Unlike me
You have a choice
A decision to make
Faith to obey
And a fate to embrace
Dare not refuse
Your solemn chance
Especially on my behalf
God may have created us all
But he has refused
Much of his ownership
There are many bastards
Is this world of offspring
Let me own what’s mine
You go off on your way
Never again turn and face
Do not look back
Refuse curiosity
Rebut sympathy
Be as cold as the god
You so blindly adore
Take his lesson to heart
Live for yourself
Own what is yours to own
Drop everything else
In its place…
