Someone close to me is gone and I have done what she asked of me.

On the wind
Out of my hand
Ash and dust
All that was left
She died
Suicide
A bullet to the brain
A useful method
To lesson her pain
She couldn’t take anymore
I can certainly relate
But because of fear
I will not reciprocate
She was young
Way too young to die
Especially in such a brutal way
I found her
At my feet lay all that she was
All that once gave her life
Such a hellish stain
Upon the floor
Upon my expansive brain
I continually fight to deal
As she no longer deals at all
Ash and dust
Is what she has become
She told me that if she ever died
That she wanted to be transformed
From her complete mess of a being
To billions of the smallest increments
On the wind
She wanted to rise and fall
Settling down
All around
So be it
Here I am
Upon the edge
Of the tallest cliff
The wind is swift
The air is thin
From such a height
She will be spread everywhere
And in a profound way
Absolutely nowhere
Ash and dust
Is what she has become
Upon the wind
She will be free
Suffering less than me
I will deeply miss her
But I above all understand
The need for her escape…
