Introduction to vampire story
Vampires, the creatures of mystery and folklore, they are real, I have met them, and have seen almost everything they can do in the span of this story I am telling you. This is the story of my life and I need to say a few things before I start.
I am writing this story to put the truth about vampires out there. I will also not say the real names of any real vampires or other creatures for fear of their or my own life.
If you combine traits from vampire folklore and a bit of new information from this book, you will get the real life vampire. I will say the names of the folklore the abilities I list come from later, but for now here are a few facts. For one they aren't usually the bad guys, they, like humans, can be good or bad.
They can hypnotise people but they don't have to look you in the eyes, they can simply make you see what they want you to see using a thing they like to call hypnosis wave. They can project their thoughts into a person or multiple persons minds. However, this ability is hard to learn and newborn vampires have to take years to learn it.
They have evolved to be able to be in sunlight. The reason this happened is because they evolve faster than humans. Note that they will have to wear sunglasses if it gets really sunny out. But they are better in sunny weather than humans are because their skin won't sunburn because it heals instantly, providing they have drank blood that same day, even if its that same week it will help them heal.
They can drink the blood of animals to survive but will not be as strong as one that drinks human blood. They can also drink stored blood to go for a day, because it is not as fresh it is less effective. They can go for one week on one pint of human blood, meaning one month if they drain a human. Animal blood is half effective and cold stored blood can only work for one day (animals would be half a day).
Newborns have the strength of ten humans and older vampires can reach the strength of around thirty to forty humans, while elders can reach the strength of a hundred humans. This is because vampires cells never degenerate causing them to never age, the age you turn is the age you stay until you die, or forever if you can make it that long. It's hard to say because most vampires die around the age of one thousand and only the elders have survived past three thousand.
What's known as "vamping out" is when a vampire becomes twice as strong and their physical appearance changes. This can happen when a vampire is starving or when it chooses to vamp out of its own choice. Their eyes turn fully black and their nails grow longer and sharper. Their skin turns paler and their hair turns black (if not black already). Then finally their teeth grow sharp, but only the canines and incisors, creating the iconic fangs. These can all happen individually by the vampires' control but these all happen at once when the "vamp out" occurs.
Vampires can have one of three mental abilities. One is being able to control objects with their minds, this is the rarest mental ability. The second is reading minds, they can read most minds aside from more powerful vampires and some humans. The third mental power is being able to look into the future, it is also rare and can change depending on certain circumstances. This is rare but some vampires can get all three abilities or a combination of both, or none at all sometimes.
Some vampires can control elements, usually depending on factors from when they were alive (like attitude, personality, etc). Sometimes they can control all but this is rare. The rarest elements are darkness and light, only a few of the elders are rumoured to possess these abilities. These two are so mysterious that there are only rumours of what they can actually do.
A vampires speed is the fastest of any creature on earth. A newborn can run nearly as fast as a NASCAR car. While older vampires can run as fast as a jet. Elders have been rumoured to be able to run at the speed of light but this has never been seen. Vampires speed is said to be faster than their polar opposite (I'll get to that later).
Vampirism is an evolutionary process and will not damn your soul (vampires have souls like you and I). Drinking human blood to a vampire is nearly the same as a human eating a lower species on the food chain, since vampires are a different species than a human. This has been argued but while I say this most vampires have stopped drinking human blood and have switched to animals, they believe this will have a better outcome. The elders have even decided to befriend humans in the long run. Vampires have the same chance of going to heaven or hell as a human has. They have seen ghosts and know souls exist so most vampires are actually Christian or catholic. However some vampires have decided to make their own religion, it consists of vampires in the bible, it's very similar to Christianity. Though some Christian vampires believe jesus was a vampire. This is because the vampire coma lasts two to three days.
What is the vampire coma you ask? The vampire coma is the time it takes the human body to turn into a vampire. During this the body enters a sleeping state. The vampire is turned when a human is bitten by one and the vampire decides to inject solanum and a special microbe through the fangs, like a snake. Most vampires turn willing people who are deserving of power. Some however turn people at will causing some of the bad vampires people see. There is also no cure to being a vampire, not even killing the one that turned you (like some movies show). You should remember this; each city has at least ten vampires in it and big cities have at least twenty.
I will also say that zombies do exist too, they are made by one of the things that come out of the vampire fang called solanum. Solanum reanimates the dead while a second microbe combines with the body creating a vampire, the second microbe makes the vampire keep his soul and mind, making him not decompose or loose brain cells.
Zombies are made when vampires only introduce solanum to a humans body, they won't follow orders or anything, all they do is eat. Without the second microbe the body decomposes and losses its soul and brain.
Introduction of the second microbe without the solanum creates a highly intelligent human much like nzt in limitless, except the human stays that way. This human will crave meat more but will not require blood. The human will also not be immortal but will have less aging and a prolonged life, not by much though.
You will learn how I know all this in my story which will begin next. All this is from personal experience and conversations with vampires. I hope you enjoy this story because it took great courage to write it. Here it is, the stories of the night.
