How could God take the life of an innocent man, but let the young live forever?
Albert, shaken from the impact, woke from his sleep in a sharp, ear-piercing screech. Thirteen hours of work wasn’t such a good preparation for his hour ride home. A blanket of blood, draped across his windshield, blocked his view of the horrific site that lay ahead. “Shit! Daniel, call the police!” Albert shouted while quickly yanking the handle of the car door. A violent attack of his nerves anchored him dead in his tracks. What would he find to be the cause of his crimson tinted windshield? “Daniel… Take a look outside?” “I don’t think…” “Get your ass out there! Now! We don’t have time to waste!” Daniel’s clear vision blurred from tears and his shaky hand finally got a grip worthy enough to open the door of this two ton murderer. With all of the strength that Albert had, he opened his door to accompany Daniel in his findings. “I think it’s best if you remain in your seat…” Daniel whispered through the agony in his voice. “We need to talk.” Albert sat down on the warm leather seat of his work trust, trying his best to hold back the tears. “Who is it?” “Albert, we me made it home. Its your son.” Confused about what Daniel had just said, Albert stood up from his seat with an attempt to see the carnage. “We hit your son! We… we hit your son.” “No… It’s two in the morning. He’s in bed.” “He’s gone Albert… We can’t fix this. The medics can’t fix this. You’re out of time…” Albert violently shoved Daniel to the rocky, gasoline covered pavement and ran towards the front of the truck. A gruesome scene of a mangled corpse of a child that he once called his own, threw Albert to his knees. How could God let such tragedy torment such an innocent man? How could God take the life that we have tried so hard to succeed in? What’s the point of living when in the end we’re going to die?
