It's about a man running from something. Enjoy!
I knew there was something behind me. It’s paws swiftly moved across the ground- each thud being muffled by the thick moss that layered the unleveled ground. The vines swallowed my feet, purposely slowing me down. It was as if the fallen trees made themselves obstacles for me to dodge. It seemed that the entire forest was against me. As I continued to run, each plant protruding from the ground took a swing at me, hindering my attempt at an escape. Thick moss that hung from branches seemed to extend itself even further at a try to slow me down even more. Soon, breathing became hard and I was gasping for air, slowing myself down too. Even my body is against me. The only thought that penetrated my brain was how I was going to get out of here. I heard the thuds of the creature behind me growing louder- he was close. I had stopped, searching for something to possibly climb or another way to go. Everything was too tall… With my breathing slowly reducing to lower rate, I decided to continue to run- it seemed to be the only thing I could do. I felt a sense of warmth slowly creep down my legs. Ignorantly, I looked down to find deep gashes from the whips of the plants in the forest. Suddenly, I was on the ground looking up at the rays of the sun slightly peeking through the thick net of tree tops. Out of nowhere, the animal that had been chasing me was now leaping into the air, destination: me. Soon, he was right on top of me. Words slowly leeked through the creatures lips. “You’re out of time.” And then, it was all black.
