This is just a short introduction and description of the book I'm attempting to write.
The book that I'm attempting to write is titled: Tobagua: The Queen's Locket. It's a fantasy young adult story, and I currently have the first two chapters done. But I have all the details, plot, and everything else figured out, I just need to write it. I've had this idea for over a year now but I've never really went through with it because I don't know if it's any good or if anyone would be interested in reading it. It's not a crazy unique idea, it's a typical fantasy story, but I think the characters and other things about it make it unique. Anyway, here's an introduction to it, something like you would read on the inner flap of a book, let me know if it sounds interesting!

Alison Eswara has lived in New York City with her eighty three year old grandmother for her entire sixteen years of life. She has never had any parents, they supposedly died in a car crash when she was a baby. She is treated very badly at school because she's different, and she's never really had any friends other than her grandmother. She's extremely depressed. She hates New York City and all the people. She lives solely for her grandma, and she doesn't know what will keep her going when her grandma is gone.

This all changes on the last day of Alison's sophomore year when her grandmother gives her the news that they will be going on an Atlantic cruise for the first two weeks of the summer. Alison can hardly believe it, a whole two weeks away from New York City. She feels excited for the first time in a long time. They aboard an amazing ship, and Alison has the time of her life for the first couple of days. And then the ship wrecks on an island.

Alison's depression returns full force. They will have to return to New York City in a day when the rescue crew comes. Their cruise has been ruined. But as Alison explores the island a bit to pass time while awaiting the rescuers, she discovers the island is very strange. This island seems to be something from a fairy tale book, filled with things that aren't supposed to be real. Even weirder, Aashika seems to know about this island. The more Alison discovers, the more she wants to stay. Has Alison finally found a place she belongs, or are things too good to be true?
