A legend that apears to just be for scaring young kids, or is there more behind this myth.
“Sitting all alone in his lab on the 22nd floor of the science department that sat on the corner of 25th street and Monroe Avenue, Dr Farda worked on his secret experiment he had been trying to complete for the past 6 months. Being on the verge of losing all funds towards this, he tried harder and harder to put together all the pieces required. Unfortunately, this did require a lot of underhanded and ‘dirty’ work, in order to get the highly rare and highly sought after materials, and when the department found out, well, he was kicked out of the Scientist Society and his lab, and stripped of all funds and any titles he may’ve held. But what remained in his lab was the experiment that was only partially complete. So through the window of his lab he climbed that night, after finally managing to source the final parts required for his experiment. How he managed to climb 22 stories on the outside of the building was a mystery to everyone, and will likely never be known.
But as he worked late into the night, he finally managed to finish his ‘creation’, with the final part being a drop of his blood, and was about to bring it to life, when suddenly his door was kicked down by the precinct, and he was dragged, kicking and screaming, out of his office backwards. Thrown in prison for overnight lockdown for breaking and entering, the cops later returned to his lab, only to find all of the documents on the good doctor’s experiment, including all the immoral things he had to do in order to get the equipment and materials that were a necessity to his work, and he was promptly sentenced to death via the electric chair. As he was strapped into the seat, the doctor began to smile, and eventually began to laugh. When the officer in charge of the sentence asked him if he had any final words, all he did was look around the room and said “I will...have my... revenge...on you and everyone you know and love.” At this point, the switch was flicked, and the doctor was killed instantly.  At the same time, a lightning storm struck, and was attracted to the lightning rod on top of the science building.
But the doctor’s words rang loud in everyone’s ears, and when the cops went back the next day to check for more evidence, they were horrified at what they found. Not only was the door ripped open and papers everywhere, but a huge hole was seen in the brick wall leading outside the building. Looking through that hole, they saw a massive crater-looking ditch in the concrete road below. What made this mess was never found. Some say it was the creature that was being built, that had come to life from the shock of high voltage that came from the storm. Others say that Dr Farda’s spirit came and possessed the monster, giving him a second life. Either way, the monster was never found, but it has been said that it is seen wandering through the streets in the dead of night, hunting for the people that put him away, but there was no proof...Until now!!!!”

AAGGGHHHH!!!!” Screamed the three little kids sitting in front of me. My best mate Roe had just creeped up behind the youngsters and grabbed them at my last sentence. “Ahahahaha!!” We burst out laughing, as my younger brother just crossed his arm and glared at me. “Stephi!!” He wailed. I stood up from where I was sitting cross-legged on the floor. “What?” I asked as I stretched my legs out. “You asked to hear the story.” “Yeah, but you promised something scary.” He retorted. I just snorted. “Says the guy who is holding onto his mates arm so hard it looks like it could lose consciousness and drop off.” My bro realised this was true, and dropped the arm he was grabbing. “Any who,” I continued. ‘there was a reason I told it to you in the middle of the day.” He continued to glare at me. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his shoulders. “Come on. Let’s go make cookies.”

“Yayy!!!” Screamed the kids, and ran off inside. I looked at Roe, and we began to laugh again. Putting our arms around each other’s neck, we walked up the stairs we were sitting on, across the porch and into my house.  Everyone in my neighbourhood knew that story, and has been passed down through the generations of kids that lived here.  I can’t even remember the origin of the story; I was just told it one day by a mate. My brother and his mates had heard of the story, but hadn’t heard the actual story. I finally decided they were old enough to hear it. Probably a bad call, but he really wanted to. I must admit, the story has probably been changed a bit since it was first told, but it was still a good legend that existed. I figured that it is not even real, so it wouldn’t hurt to tell my brother. He would more than likely forget the story, and then remember it when he is older and needs to tell it to the other kids. Roe has also known the story for a while, and we laugh about it because we remember when we were young, we were so scared of this monster because we thought it was real. But we all knew it was just a story from the ages cooked up to bully the younger kids and make them scared...

Or so we thought...
