My feelings towards the occupation of nearly half of my country by Turkish forces.
We are the youth of a society, where even though there are no sandbags, or barrels… We still seem to live in the days of the invasion.
Due to this bitterness, due to the fact that some of us are refugees, due to the hate, the regret, the self-conflict… We do not want to forget. We are hurt.
But without forgiving, even if you are free physically, mentally you are still a slave. Caged. Haunted by the past.

The change lies in our hands! We are the new generation! We no longer care who’s fault it was, matter of fact, none of us were even alive!
No longer shall we allow our leaders to handle us like mere chess pieces! Our leaders should be followers. Followers of our demands.
We will not forget. But together, we are taking the first step; towards love, friendship, towards reconciliation, acceptance…

Towards HOPE.
