THANKSGIVING

The reason we do this every year
Has sometimes befuddled me.
All we do is eat and chat,
Nap and yap, shop at the Gap.
Knowing a break is right around the corner
Saves me from the wintry blues.

God, help me understand Thanksgiving,
In You I find a holiday worth living through.
Very thankful for the time, when friends are gone (there seems no rhyme, or reason)
It seems wasteful not to bundle with family for the season.
Never has one day brought so many together,
Getting full bellies and warm memories in any weather.
