The story of the life of a piece of paper.
The Silly Piece of Paper
As told by:Silly Paper
When I was made I was just a normal piece of printing paper.I was just one of millions of pieces that day alone.I was packed up with 499 more pieces of paper. We didn't have much to talk about while we were packed, shipped, stocked, and waiting to be sold so we decided to talk about what we wanted to be.Most of them wanted to be printed on, or have a nice letter written on them.A few of the more delicate pieces wanted to have a nice poem written on them or a beautiful dress or flower drawn on them. But not me.I wanted to be funny. My special favorite idea was to have a funny joke or poem written on me and I could already think of quite a few good ones.Like this one:What's black and white and red(read) all over?A newspaper.Or how about this one:What do you call a cow with no legs?Ground beef.
Anyways after a few days a woman with three little girls came along and picked us up.She checked us out at the counter and took us home. When we got home she opened our package and handed each of the girls a small stack,My stack was handed to the oldest girl Tria. She took us up to her room, and placed us on her desk.
On the desk we met other pieces of paper. Some were in very odd shapes. We started talking to them and learned that the odd pieces were paper dolls. There were also essays and sketches made by Tria.On that desk I found another thing that I wanted to be.I wanted to be a witty paper doll.
As the days went by Tria Used my friends for many different things.Paper airplanes, assignments, stories, and yes paper dolls. But can you guess what she did when she got to me?Can you guess? She decided to write a Get Well card on me that's what she did.And not even a funny one at that. She couldn't have waited to write it on the next piece of paper.
The next day she gave me to her friend Ande who had a cold.Ande set me on her dresser for a while and then put me in the recycling bin.And so I was recycled.
I'll have you know that when a piece of paper is recycled it goes into a deep sleep so I didn't even know what was happening until it was all over.I had the best surprise ever when I woke up.I was a Saturday Comic.Everywhere I went there was laughter. Eventually an old man in a nursing home cut me out and taped me to his dresser, and everyday I bring him joy. That is the best way of living to me.So I guess it all worked out in the end.
