Being sick is no fun, especially when it is more than once.
The Sign

Carlotta laid still as the
poison poured into her veins.
This slow drip meant that the doctors
were giving her a last chance to live.
Later, she would be so nauseated
that she would refuse food, water or even a hug.
Two times she thought she had foiled
this devastating foe.
Two times she waited to see
her enemy return.
But still she prayed.
Her husband prayed.
Her friends prayed.
And as she layed there, she thought she saw a light.
It went away and she woke up.
Was this a sign of victory or the end?
