Will man ever learn from history?
“That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons that history has to teach.” - Aldous Huxley

Cut them down for they are free
as the good Lord said they
should be.
And they won't hang by their
throats for being their colour
or seeking a free life.
The flag of liberty is said to fly
but why did it take so long to
see?

Man is barbaric.

And we can't just blame our ancestors
because we have
the same blood,
the same heart,
the same name.
For the blood that has spilled was watched
through their eyes
and now they prophesize,
that the day will come
of the end.

All I can say is man is to blame.

History is to be learned from,
not repeated,
and I don't mean to start an argument that's heated...
But how many have to die?
How many have to bleed then left to hang and dry
for the vultures of man to
digest?

How can we gallop around and say
we are the best...
when we failed the largest test?
The test of time and opening our eyes
to the gruesome past of our
ancestors lives?

And now we say we're all free
but I see no liberty
in this cruel and vile world
we have to call Earth.

And if you ignore the history of the many who died
then when will you ever see?

That until man learns from history
we will never be free
from the violence, injustice and
the chains of ignorance.
