A poem about finding someone who has changed my life.
I never thought I could be loved
by someone so perfect
who sees the flaws in me, yet stays,
because they see past the
dirty doors and smashed windows.

This light showed in my life
in the form of a tousled brown
hair boy.
And my heart loves him until
the day I die.

Someone to send all the old,
yet gold,
romance songs to.
Someone to cuddle in bed
and kiss their forehead.

Talking at 3am when
we should sleep.
Him picking me up from
the crumpled heap
of emotions.

I never guessed I'd open my heart.
Males were mean to me and
I locked my heart away
until that day.

Now I can wave my heart in
the air.
I can text someone who cares
and kiss their nose until they
smile.
And count down the days
whilst forgetting the miles.
