Don't ever be late to your girlfriend's celebration (Form: Kyrielle)
View from the Corner

The invitation was quite clear.
Don't be late when you appear!
Of course, I was - but just a tad.
The view from the corner's not bad.

I stopped to have my mustache trimmed
but the darn barber was one limbed
and left my face looking quite sad.
The view from the corner's not bad.

With courage I went on my way.
I wouldn't miss this special day!
(Besides, I fear making you mad.)
The view from the corner's not bad.

I could tell as I walked inside
arrows from your eyes said I'm fried.
The look on your face wasn't glad.
The view from the corner's not bad.

"My dear," I began, not to spar -
but my excuses didn't go far.
"Sorry" was all that I could add.
The view from the corner's not bad.

In celebration, gifts we bestow.
You look at me and just say "No,
stay where you are." In shame I'm clad.
The view from the corner's not bad.
