Tuesdays
I go back to that very Tuesday
That Tuesday we made that bucket list.
The list of things we would do together.
Then for all the Tuesdays to come, we would add check mark to that very sheet.
We never did finish that bucket list.
But I am sorry.
I'm sorry that your Tuesdays ran out, and mine didn't.

These things happen
Serendipitously
Out of your reach.
And it strikes you
With such great force.
You not only begin to lose balance
On your feet
But as well in the ways you think
These things happen
Perhaps not serendipitously

Fullerton
Because within all this chaos, I'm still sane
Though I no longer have you by my side
I know I'm not the one to blame
Your presence still lingers
But if you ever made your way back
We both know nothing would ever be the same
