Narrative Synopsis

Jillian Peters arrived at her new apartment in Tampa Bay Florida to begin her first semester of graduate studies at the University of South Florida. She meets a young man named Aaron Michaels who is not the nice guy he presents himself to be. He attempts to control her every move, but when she resists he takes her to a BDSM club and proceeds to humiliate and abuse her. His humiliation of her is halted by the club owner Dr. Jacob Wind, who turns out to be a professor of business at USF. After throwing Aaron out of his club Jacob takes care of getting Jill back to her apartment safely. He suggests that she audit an undergrad course entitled Psychology and Sexuality taught by Dr. Michael Lancing.

After recovering over winter break, Jill attempts a fresh start for her second semester. She takes Michael Lancing’s course, and finds herself attracted to him, and his non-traditional views on relationships. During the semester Jill engages in a casual rebound relationship with Marcus Anderson, but finds out that Dr. Lancing is also interested in pursuing more than just an academic relationship with her. After the semester ends, and things end between herself and Marcus Jill attempts a relationship with Michael.

Aaron is not so easily thwarted until Jill files a complaint against him with the campus disciplinary committee. Aaron accepts the punishment the disciplinary committee, and leaves Jill alone for the remainder of the semester. After the semester and his probation ends Aaron begins a more reserved pursuit of Jill. When it becomes clear that Michael Lancing is going to be in his way he schemes with Mike’s ex Laura Jones to break up Jill and Mike.
