written for Newbies contest
Other little boys ,for childhood fun
dreamed of cowboy hats, and a cap pistol gun.
I dreamed of soaring in the sky above,
Flying is something I knew I would love.

No bats and balls were in my plan,
No playing sports when I was a man.
I just wanted to see the world from a plane
I still hear my mother saying “Son you're insane.".

The freedom of flight to take me away
is all I dreamed of, every day.
Up with the birds in a sky so blue.
A childhood wish I hoped would come true.

Now as a man, from a tractor seat.
I stare at the sky my dream still repeat.
Though impossible, sometimes it seems.
I haven't forgotten those childhood dreams.

But sometimes life just gets in the way,
I must make a living every day.
So dreams will stay dreams for just awhile
And someday I will fly, and that makes me smile.
