Small fragment of a larger story I am working on
A dark lake bathed in the full moon light… has always been my first love. Calm and dark, the small ripples make it seem as if it will go on forever. I could follow that path just as long as it goes.

“Funny; I didn’t think that you where capable of loving anything. Or am I to believe that you are a lair and an amateur poet….”

I look down at her sitting on the edge, feet in the dark, her heels sitting on the dock below right by her side. She chooses the red, classy but with an air of rebellion. He doesn’t know what he has and she isn’t aware of the effect she has on them… on any of us.

Do you see that… its all for you. All their cheering and smiling. The champagne and beautiful toasts…. In you honor to celebrate what you have become. It’s enough to make any girl impressed to the point of no speech. Its what you all dream of, the reason we watch those movies and copy every rule that must be true. We soften our speech and make ourselves delicate to signal that we are for the taking, that we need saving; so that one day he will come and give us all of this… all of that.

She is making small ripples with her bare feet; place a mark on my endless path…

“Is it what you want; what you always dreamed it would be”

Why are you here….

“You think I don’t know, that I can’t feel what’s happening,”

She stands up; realizing her power; feeling dangerous in that red dress. It’s a dangerous game you play with me. I’m just giving you a chance.

“You can’t give me anything I don’t already have…. I have it all. But I want something….

I’m giving you a chance to change your mind, I’m not good for you and you will be so bad for me. If I asked you to stop to go back to the party would you?

“No…”
