First issue of a superhero script I did for a friend, who wanted to create a comic.
PAGE ONE - THREE PANELS
1.1
A long horizontal panel at the top of the page shows a light train among several skyscrapers from a far off POV. An explosion happens and smoke is pouring from the rapidly moving train.

CAPTION: Present day. March 3, 2051.

SFX: BOOOOOMMM!!

1.2
A tall vertical panel on the left side of the page, shows several passengers inside the train looking panicked. Some of them are on the ground, others are in the background of the scene. The scene should be hectic and cramped.  A mid range shot has the three Lightcorp members, distinguishable by their red/black leather jacket uniforms in between the people and the reader. Valor is rushing forward, Skewer is a few paces behind her, his hands close together about to clap, and Bloodhound stands next to Skewer, with his gun drawn. Skewer's shoulder is bloodied.

VALOR: yelling I'm taking you down Syphon! You're not going to harm anyone else!

SKEWER: Stay focused Valor! Don't let him hit me again...

VALOR: Rrraaagghhh

Another tall vertical panel has a close up POV of the villain Syphon so that he takes up most of it, yet some people should be laid around his feet, busted windows and a large hole should be to his left in the side of the train. He is slightly glowing from the energy he's absorbed. Blood splatters cover his jacket and arms as he holds a limp man by the neck. He looks hatefully toward the reader as he licks his lips.

SYPHON: You Lightcorps always want to intervene, eh? Well I hope you like the mess you caused you fools.












PAGE TWO - FOUR PANELS
2.1
A wide thin horizontal panel at a medium range shot. Valor flies across the panel with several objects rotating around her. She has one hand out toward Syphon, with some of the objects moving ahead of her. These can be suitcases, tablets, food & drink containers, utensils, etc. A few of the objects have already flown past Syphon as he's leaning aside.

SFX: Wooooshhh

SFX: Crasshhh

SFX: Clang

2.2
Another thin horizontal panel has Bloodhound walking forward, gun shoulder level and firing rounds. Skewer has one hand raised. Valor is hovering in the air with objects deflecting the energy bursts. She is farther ahead than her coworkers. Syphon is deflecting items with bursts of energy/force fields. All are in profile

BLOODHOUND: You gonna be able to snap him boss? My rounds aren't doing nothin' against his force fields.

SKEWER: Of course, just keep firing. Make him use energy, drain him...speaking of, my shoulder is draining a lot of blood now...

2.3
A vertical panel on left at medium range POV. Syphon is crouching as a suitcase hurdles over him and bullets are caught near him in a force field hands are lit and energy bursts radiate toward the reader.

SYPHON: quietly I can't maintain this stalemate much longer...I need sweet, tasty energy. Might as well rush them. And to think I trusted you Bella...

Another vertical panel, from a slightly removed and above POV. Syphon is running toward the Lightcorps with energy waves rippling across the train, blowing out windows. The corps stand resolute as Valor fends off the assault with objects she's moving around.

PAGE THREE - THREE PANELS
3.1
Thin vertical panel for a close up of Skewer from above his waist. His hand is extended toward the reader with his fingers having made a snapping motion. Possible color tone shift surround him, such as whiting or blacking out everything around, or having wavy, heavy color lines surround him. Skewer's expression is solemn, slightly pained.

SKEWER: I've snared you Syphon. Stop resisting.

3.2
Horizontal at medium range shot profile POV. Syphon is surrounded by the altered coloration, but the rest of the background appears as before, maybe have the wavy, color lines layered on Syphon. He looks bewildered, panicked with his arms flung about and head thrown back.

SYPHON: That's not the right direction! Why are you all upside down?! What's happening...
VALOR: You just got skewed idiot.

3.3
Large horizontal panel angled level POV to show the mostly empty seats. Syphon is on his knees in the aisle holding his head with a hand. He's looking toward a child who is in the fetal position on one of the seats close to him. He looks in pain, yet licks his lips.

SYPHON: There you are my tasty little energy treat.





















PAGE FOUR - TWO PANELS
4.1
Wide horizontal with close up of Syphon still on the floor, the rest of the wrecked train can be seen behind him. Syphon is holding the child as it cries and thrashes violently in his grip.

SYPHON: Your ability is crazy Skewer, up is down, left is right, but I know an energy signature when I smell it.

VALOR: quietly, mumbled Not again. Not another innocent.

SYPHON: Want to save him? Valor, was it? Like courage or something? Come  ont then, let me taste your courage, just like your fellow Lightcorp buddies. They weren't too tasty, but I bet you're quite sweet!

4.2
Another horizontal POV is looking up from floor toward the Lightcorp members. Valor is in the middle and looks shaken. Skewer is leaning on Bloodhound for support.

SKEWER: Don't let him get in your head Valor. I know what Eric told you still weighs heavy on your heart, but you have to move past that guilt. This child can be saved. NOW RIP THAT PSYCHO APART!

VALOR: I-I wasn't able to do anything for them... Eric, James, Spencer, Michael...






















PAGE FIVE - SPLASH
Thumbnail will accompany this one. A main scene is the focal point, yet there are 3 smaller panels overlaid. The panels can be slightly tilted, maybe even slightly fuzzy as compared to the clear main image. The main scene is at night showing two thugs in front of a rundown car near the top of the page. One is holding a smoking gun, and the other is in motion, swinging a bloody crowbar. One boy is limping away with his shoulder bloody. One is sprawled underneath the middle right panel with the blood overlapping onto him, since this was the boy who was shot. The other two boys are running away both scared with tears in their eyes down the length of the page.

VALERIE is waking up, her sheets wrapped around her waist and legs, one corner held up in her opposite hand away from her as she stretches. Her pink shirt is visible amidst all the blue in the page, giving her a warm look as she lazily wakes up. The room is colored in soft blues and whites. There is clothing scattered across the floor, and the remnants of a meal on a plate on the desk beside the bed. The sheets are messy and there's a pillow that fell off the bed.

CAPTION: Present day, March 5, 2051.
         
VALOR: groggily It feels like a dream, a dream I'm glad to be away from now.

PAGE SEVEN - THREE PANELS

Large horizontal panel distant POV still showing a large portion of the room. A large screen is lit with a man's face on it. The rest of the room is somewhat messy. Valerie sits on the edge of her bed, still not fully awake with her back to reader. The train wreckage images are shown on screen. The crawl at the bottom of the scene states, "Lightcorps Off Track Again."

CAPTION T.V.: The Lightcorps mess up again as they were seen causing the wreckage of the main Lighthaven Line C Train. Unfortunately, a Praetorium member was severely wounded in the incident.

Horizontal panel on left, close up on on Valerie. She is now fully awake & looks annoyed or disgusted at the news. A water bottle & cellphone looking device are floating in mid air near her.

VALOR: How is that possible?! Syphon was part of Praetorium?! I knew they were corrupt government lackeys, but berserk killers...he almost killed that child...

CAPTAIN DYLAN-CAPTION (OP): Valerie, are you there?

VALOR: Captain Dylan, did you know he was Praetorium? Did you know that he killed seven of our own and hurt several civilians? Did you--

DYLAN-CAPTION (OP): It doesn't matter. What does, is that you saved Skewer, Bloodhound, and that child. Put those boy's fate behind you, and learn to move forward. That's an order. Be on time tomorrow, good day Valor.

VALOR: Aye, captain. I can't move past it yet...Eric, James, Spencer, Michael, and even that sorry Syphon...It's just too much to handle.










PAGE EIGHT - FOUR PANELS
8.1
Horizontal thin panel, close up POV. Valor is yelling, and her arms are thrust outward across her body with hands down in an action motion.

VALOR: Rarrrgghhh! No more will die!

Vertical panel removed POV. Syphon and the kid are in the middle of the panel with the train seats, rails, and handgrips are ripped apart, and twisting toward Syphon.

Vertical panel closer on Syphon. The train sides are wrapped around Syphon's neck and arms. Syphon's face is distorted as he's chocking.

SYPHON: strained Aaaahhh! You crazy bi--

VALOR-CAPTION (OP): Bite the floor you crazy, crazy, evil person!

Horizontal panel medium range shot in profile POV. Afternoon. Valerie, in street clothes, is casually walking in front of several buildings in an average looking neighborhood. Perhaps stores/vendors, with others people walking around her.

VALOR-CAP: ...you're safe now.

VALOR: mumbling Why did I lie to that kid? It's not safe, even with the Lightcorps.

9.2
Vertical on the left angled medium range above scene. A man, Draconis, in a dark hoodie is running toward the reader along the same street. Valerie is near the bottom of the page and a Lightcorp member is at the top of it.

LC 2: He is a vigilante working for the Tadeki family, and he's getting away. We need to go now!

LC 1: Wait, you're Valor, right?

VALOR: Yes I am, and I'll help you catch that vigilante. The Tadeki's have been a problem lately, so anyone working for them need to be taken down.

LC 2: That's great. Now let's go, I can barely see him from here.

10.2
Tall vertical panel on right, close up shot. Draconis is throwing a door open wide. He looks flushed and out of breath.

DRACONIS: loudly Chin, Hao, I'm here with the shipment!

CHIN-CAPTION (OP): Yo! It's Drake! Were you tailed Drake?

DRACONIS: Maybe...I was chased by a few Corps, but I lost those pathet--

Horizontal panel at medium range POV. The ceiling bursts open with Valerie in front with the two LC repelling down on each side of her. Draconis, Hao, Chin, and a several others are shown scrambling away from the blown out roof near the bottom of the panel. A large cement post falls down amidst lot of other debris.

LC 2: loudly Tadeki scum, this is the Lightcorp Patrol! We will detain you on suspicion of trafficking illegal substances and vigilante practices! Do not resist or we will use force.

LC 1: quietly We sort of already did use force...why did you have to blow the roof, Valor?

VALOR: We needed to surprise them! Let's go Lightcorps!

Horizontal panel at zoomed out above POV. A large warehouse with catwalks and several thugs are present. Some thugs are running away, while others are shooting at them and LC are in pursuit across the large warehouse building. Valor has caught one, who is struggling with her in mid air.

Horizontal panel at medium range. Morning. A nicely laid out office, with a large wooden desk. There are several plants & photos. Two large windows are behind the desk of Captain Alleck, who is reclined in his chair. There are several stacks of papers on the desk, and drinking glasses. Valerie is sitting opposite of him with her back to the reader.

CAPTION: Three days later

ALLECK: This is Second Captain James Alleck of the Lighthaven Corps. Today is March the fifteenth. I'm with Officer Valerie Devine of the Track-and-Pursuit Division. Ms. Devine, could give your best recount of the incident?

VALOR: The train incident or the warehouse one?

ALLECK: We will need a detailed report on both. First I need to know how you could let an officer, who was following your orders, be hurt so badly. He's struggling to survive severe burns.

VALOR: I-I was attacked at that moment by another thug. I didn't have time to help the officer--

ALLECK: --which is another concern Valerie. Those thugs were beaten bloody. You went overboard again and it might cost a patrol his life.

VALOR: ...Thank you Captain. I could've done better with that situation though as well...

ALLECK: Well give me the details and we can decide that together. Please take your seat Valor.

VALOR: Well, he demoted me to patrol duty.

DYLAN: That bad, eh? Well James could stand to lighten up a bit, but patrol will benefit from having you.  Do me a favor though and go with Skewer to interview Syphon.

Valor & Skewer are in middle of the panel.  There are several large murals along the upper parts of the walls, one is of a redhead woman. Several other LC members are walking about the area. ADAM: loudly Hey Valor!

SKEWER: softly It's your biggest fan Val.

VALOR: softly Be nice Leo, he can be my fan if he wants.

SKEWER: softly Fan may be putting it mildly, oh well.  We need to hurry though.

SYPHON: loudly Good to see you two again. Wasn't there one more, or did he die? How did you hurt your arm? Ha ha

SKEWER: He is alive and well, Theodore. And we will be asking the questions, not you.

SYPHON: Why can't this interrogation be fun? A bit of give and take, it's how I live, take energy and give it right back in killing bursts!

VALOR: How could you kill all of those Lightcorps, civilians, and almost a child and stay so calm?

SYPHON: Oh I almost forgot about the brat. How is he?

VALOR: angrily You monster!

SKEWER: Calm down Valor. Syphon, why did you attack our organization?

Long horizontal. Long range profile POV. Skewer is reclined, Valor is leaning forward, & Syphon has his eyes closed.  The LC member sitting down has a pained look on his face & has a hand to his head.

SYPHON: Why do you think? I needed money and someone was willing to pay my price.

SKEWER: I find it odd that someone hired an ex-Praetorium. Was it this Bella person who you mention on the train?

SYPHON: Perhaps...all I know is I was paid, and got to hurt some of your silly group. Hey! whoever is in my thoughts, Get out! You won't find any secrets on Praetorium.

VALOR: Why did you leave Praetorium?

SYPHON: I got bored. They care too much about public opinion and look down on killing for kicks.

Horizontal panel. medium range shot. Late at night, very dark in a park with several trees & benches. A street light barely lights the scene. Syphon is shown walking away from a group of three men dressed in the Cyan Dragons garb.

VALOR-CAPTION (OP): You're quite chatty now Syphon. I thought you would be tougher to crack.

SYPHON: Well, maybe I just like hearing your voice sweetheart. I'm "chatty" because I was screwed over. The Cyan Dragons were with a woman, who I think is Bella. We met in the East Central Park where--

SHAWN: Yaaahhhh, Hold on to that image, Syphon! The park...a thin, white plant..Orch--Yaaahhggg

VALOR-CAP (OP): Shawn! What's happening?! Syphon, what have you done?!

SHAWN: out of breath ...So many images at once...I've never drawn so many images from someone...it was painful, but there was such a rush as well...

SKEWER: softly A thin, white plant, a rush, Orch...Please don't let it be Orchid again...

VALOR: Shawn, are you ok?

SHAWN: yeah thanks Valerie.

SKEWER: He's passed out, take him to a holding room, and send for the next one. Valor, you can leave now. Have a nice afternoon.

SILVER: Ah c'mon, one of the Cyan Dragon's thugs?  I'd much prefer a Crimson Hawk. Those punks are at least a slight challenge.

SILVER: shouting Has anyone had access to him?!

LC GUARD 1: No sir! Only Wedge and me!

LC GUARD 2: ...Well there was that officer who bumped into the priso--

SILVER: --When was it?

LC GUARD 2: Only a few minutes before we walked in sir.

SILVER: Was his arm purple earlier?

LC GUARD 1: No, sir.  Wedge, was his arm bruised or punctured when we brought him in?

LC GUARD 2: Nothing besides the dragon tattoos.

SILVER: Notify Alleck, set off all of the alarm protocols, and then get this scum out of here. Something very bad is going down.

Horizontal panel. Medium range shot of the room. Silver is staring at Chin's still form. Shawn is standing near him.

SHAWN: I agree. This cannot be a coincidence. Did you hear about Syphon earlier?

SILVER: Yup, I don't like it. HQ is supposed to be a safe place, a shining light to the rest of the city. Today it's more like the north quarter slums. Did you get any images?

SHAWN: My visions of images in other's thoughts are quite short range, but there was a very distinct one before it all went white...an insignia of a violet scorpion.

Horizontal panel. Medium range shot. Late afternoon. of Drazah leaving the building toward the reader. Still in LC uniform. Adam is walking close behind him. Adam looks up toward him.

ADAM: Hey, I don't recognize you.  Are you new? What's your name?

VALOR: I'll cook a nice dinner and crash with you soon Neko. Fish tacos?

SFX loudly purrrrrr

VALOR: Maybe being back on the patrol squad will be a good change.

22.1
Vertical panel at left. Close up of Drazah & Adam, who is slightly behind him. Drazah is spinning around to impale Adam, with a long needle protruding from his wrist guard. Adam looks shocked.

DRAZAH: softly Yeah, I'm new to this city, and my name is Drazah.

ADAM: Wha--

VALOR: And I especially want to protect the kids.

Horizontal panel.  Medium range shot angled from the ground upward. Drazah is in the foreground as he walking toward the reader. A train can be seen in the distant skyline, the triangular LC HQ building is slightly closer in the background, and Adams crumpled body is even closer. Drazah's actual form is shown.

DRAZAH: No more hiding behind visual camouflage. I will take my place as a leader. I'll  purify this city, even if that requires drowning it in poison to do so.
