The change from childhood to adulthood was very apparent, especially with what seemed to be Disney references, Snow White, clock said "tick tock," stood on the roof, and dark side of the moon. I like that the one lines read as a sentence if you overlook the three line sections. It almost looks like a form of shaped poetry, and if this is the intent then might could use shorter lines in the last section to continue the narrowing look of it to point to "unafraid," just an idea though. Great work!
Interesting short story. I thought for a few seconds it was going to take a suicide angle, but the fantasy aspect worked better. I like that you didn't spend too much time one describing the creature, yet I thought of a giant raven: the talons, eye, flight, and maybe having read Poe on too many times. The only part of the creature that seemed odd, was the ...big as an airplane... part, since she would probably destroy the whole house if she was that large. I know this is fantasy, but considering spatial issues are still important. You did a good job of introducing a very believable situation which I felt let the fantasy be more effective. I think you could've let the torture scene go on a little longer, but it works well. Great job!
This entry was honestly much different from what I was expecting to read, and in a very pleasant way. I greatly appreciate the tenderness and respect that you extend toward your grandmother. The way you write about her conveys a deep sense of care. Those are some very intriguing questions. From my own Christian experience, praying about these questions and continually searching the Bible will bring about the best answers. This made me reflect on what I believe and want to learn more. Great job!
